Hello and welcome to our site!

The Liberty Street Project is the non profit organization of the Prince Hall Masons of Leesburg Virginia.  It was established on November 8, 2005 at a regularly convened lodge meeting of the Prince Hall Masons for the purpose of restoring and then preserving the meeting hall.  This meeting hall is designated as a historic landmark and is a contributing building to the greater Leesburg Historic District.  As shown below, it is on the official registry of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  See our Town Proclamation page.

Although established the Liberty Street Project in 2005, we have since applied for and received from the Commonwealth of Virginia a 501c (3) non profit status with an active date of March 10, 2009.  Our slogan and thus our mission is "Restoring History and Rejoicing Humanity".  The restoration of our historic site celebrates our ancestors by preserving the location of Leesburg's first colored girls school and first African Methodist Espiscopal (A.M.E.) church.  We rejoice humanity by dedicating ourselves to uplifting the young citizens of Leesburg by providing them access to our building's first floor for unique and exciting learning experiences.  Please continue your visit and we look forward to your comments and support.
